How to Change Your Account Type on Instagram

Instagram provides various account types that cater to different users’ needs, including personal, professional, business, and creator accounts. Follow this guide to seamlessly switch between these account types based on your requirements.

1. Open the Instagram app on your smartphone.
2. Log in to your account if you are not already logged in.
3. Tap on your profile icon located at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
4. Open the menu by tapping on the three lines at the top-right corner.
5. To adjust account privacy, select Account Privacy and choose between public and private settings. Note that the private option is only available for personal accounts.
6. Scroll down and tap on Account Type and Tools to proceed with changing your account type.
7. If you want to switch to a business or creator account from a personal account, tap on Switch to Professional Account.
8. Follow the onscreen instructions by tapping Continue several times.
9. Select the category that best describes your account, then tap Done to finalize the change.
10. Your account type is now successfully changed. If reverting back to a personal account is desired, return to Account Type and Tools and select Switch to Personal Account to remove business and professional features, allowing for privacy mode if necessary.
