Deleting your Instagram history can help maintain your privacy and keep your account clutter-free. Whether you’re aiming to remove your search history or clear interactions with videos, this guide will walk you through the process on your phone.
How to Delete Instagram History
- Open the Instagram app on your phone.
- To delete your search history, tap on the search icon located at the bottom of the screen.
- Then tap on the search bar at the top.
- You’ll see a list of your recent searches. To remove an individual search, tap on the small X next to it.
- If you wish to clear all search history at once, tap on see all, then select clear all.
- Instagram will ask for confirmation. Tap on clear all again to confirm, and your search history will be deleted.
- To delete your watched reels and video history, go to your profile by tapping the profile icon at the bottom right.
- Tap on the three lines in the top right corner and select Your Activity.
- If you’ve liked any videos, tap on Likes to view all the posts and reels you’ve liked.
- To remove a video from your history, tap on it, then tap the heart icon to unlike it, removing it from your liked posts list.
- If you’ve commented on any videos and wish to remove those comments, go back to the Your Activity page and tap on Comments.
- You’ll see all the comments you’ve made. Tap on a comment, then tap and hold it. A Delete option will appear; tap on delete to remove the comment permanently.
By removing likes and comments from your activity, you can effectively clear any traces of your interactions, even if Instagram does not store a full list of the reels and videos you’ve watched.
