Instagram does not provide a direct way to edit comments once they have been posted. However, you can delete the existing comment and write a new one if you made a mistake or want to modify what you initially said.
How to Edit an Instagram Comment
- Open the Instagram app on your mobile device.
- Find the post where you wrote the comment. If you can’t find it, go to your profile by tapping the profile icon at the bottom right of the screen.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner of your screen and select ‘Your Activity‘.
- Next, tap on ‘Interactions‘ and then on ‘Comments‘. This will show all the comments you have made on Instagram.
- Locate the comment you want to change, tap and hold on it.
- A trash bin icon will appear; tap on it to delete the comment. Remember, once deleted, the comment cannot be recovered, so keep in mind what you want to write before deleting it.
- To post a new comment, go back to the same post and tap on the comment icon below the post.
- Type your new comment and tap ‘Post‘. This will replace your old comment with the updated version.
