How To Give Instagram Access To Photos On Iphone 2025 (iPhone & Android)

Managing photo access on Instagram from your iPhone can sometimes seem a bit complex, especially when you’re prompted to grant permissions. Follow this simple guide to ensure Instagram has the right level of access to your photos, enabling smooth photo and video uploads.

How to Give Instagram Access to Photos on iPhone

  1. Exit the Instagram app: If you’re facing issues uploading, start by closing the Instagram app on your iPhone.
  2. Open your iPhone settings: Navigate to the Settings app from your home screen.
  3. Find Instagram: Scroll down to locate Instagram among your installed apps and tap on it.
  4. Access photo settings: Within the Instagram settings, look for the Photos option and tap on it.
  5. Choose permission level: You’ll see three different options:
    • None: Instagram will not access any of your photos.
    • Limited Access: Allows you to manually select which photos Instagram can use. If you choose this, tap Edit Selected Photos to pick images.
    • Full Access: Grants Instagram permission to view and use your entire photo library. This is useful if you want to upload any photo without selection each time.
  6. Close settings and reopen Instagram: Once your preferred option is selected, close the settings app and launch Instagram again.
  7. Check permissions: Try uploading a photo or reel, and your camera roll should now appear, indicating that Instagram has the necessary access.
