WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world, but sometimes you might want to hide certain conversations for privacy reasons. This tutorial will guide you on how to effectively use WhatsApp’s feature to hide and lock chats, ensuring your messages stay private.
How to Hide Messages on WhatsApp
- Open WhatsApp: Begin by opening the WhatsApp application on your phone.
- Select the Chat: Tap and hold the chat you want to hide.
- Swipe Left: Swipe left by moving your finger across the screen from right to left.
- Tap on More: This will bring up additional options for the chat.
- Lock Chat: Tap on lock chat to hide the chat on your device and then tap on continue.
- Authenticate Using Face ID: You’ll need to use your Face ID to open this chat and view notifications.
- Separate Lock Chats: Note that locked chats will be kept separate from your other chats. Tap okay to confirm.
- View Locked Chats: Access your locked chats by tapping on lock chats above your chat list.
- Hide the Lock Chats Option: If desired, go to the settings at the top right corner. Enable hide lock chats.
- Set a Secret Code: Tap on use my secret code and type in your secret code, then tap done.
- Access Locked Chats with Code: To see hidden chats, enter your secret code into the search bar in the chats tab.
