How to Hide Tagged Photos on Instagram
If you wish to maintain privacy on Instagram or simply control which tagged photos are displayed on your profile, you can easily hide them through the app’s settings. This step-by-step guide will show you how to manage and hide tagged photos on your Instagram profile.
- Open the Instagram app on your smartphone and go to your profile by tapping your profile picture located at the bottom right of the screen.
- In your profile view, tap the three lines icon found in the top right corner to access more options.
- Select Settings and privacy from the menu that appears.
- Scroll down and tap on Tags and Mentions.
- From this menu, select Manually Approve Tags.
- Here, you will see a list of all photos and videos where you have been tagged. To review a post, simply tap on it.
- If you want to hide a post from your profile, tap Edit in the top right.
- Select the posts you wish to hide and tap Hide at the bottom of the screen.
- Instagram will remove these posts from your profile, but you will remain tagged in the post. The original post will still appear on the profile of the person who tagged you.
- To prevent future tagged photos from appearing automatically, go back to the Tags and Mentions menu, tap Manually Approve Tags, and turn it on. This ensures new tagged posts won’t show on your profile unless you approve them.
