How to Upload Longer Videos to Instagram Stories
Instagram Stories are a powerful tool for sharing moments with your followers. If you have a video longer than 15 seconds, this guide will walk you through adjusting your story settings to upload it as a single segment.
- Update Instagram App: Ensure you have the latest version of Instagram installed on your device. Open the Google Play Store or the App Store, search for Instagram, and check for any available updates. If an update is available, tap on the ‘Update’ button and await installation completion.
- Access Instagram Camera: Once updated, open the Instagram app and swipe right to access the Instagram camera. A notification should appear if the feature for longer stories is available to you.
- Record or Select a Video: You can either record a new video using the Instagram camera or upload an existing one from your gallery. Tap the gallery icon at the bottom left to choose a video from your camera roll.
- Upload Longer Videos: If your video is, for example, 50 seconds long, Instagram will now let you upload it as a single story, rather than splitting it into 15-second segments.
- Edit and Post: After selecting your video, you can edit it by adding text, stickers, or effects. Once satisfied with the edits, tap on ‘Your Story’ to post it. Your followers will be able to watch the complete video without interruptions.
