How to Mute Someone on Snapchat
Muting someone on Snapchat can help you manage your notifications and reduce distractions. Follow these simple steps to temporarily or indefinitely mute chat and story notifications from a contact.
- Open the Snapchat app on your phone.
- Tap on the chat icon located in the bottom panel to access your conversations.
- Select a chat with your friend; open the chat and tap on the Bitmoji.
- Tap on the three dots to bring up the menu, then choose the Chat and Notification Settings option.
- In the Notification Settings menu, select ‘Mute Chats’ and ‘Mute Calls’.
- Choose a time frame for muting, such as ‘until I unmute them’ for indefinite muting.
- After selecting the time frame for ‘Mute Calls,’ choose ‘until I turn it on’.
- Both options should now be toggled on; tap ‘Done’ and return to the previous page.
- Tap on the three dots again and select Story Settings from the menu.
- Choose the ‘Mute Story’ option and confirm by tapping ‘mute.’
- If desired, tap on the Story Notification section to receive story notifications about that friend.
- Once completed, hit the ‘Done’ button to save all your changes.
