Removing your Facebook account from Instagram can help you manage your social media connections more independently. Follow these simple steps to unlink your accounts and enjoy greater control over your digital presence.
How to Remove a Facebook Account from Instagram
- Open the Facebook app on your phone.
- Tap the menu icon in the bottom right corner.
- Tap the gear icon in the top right to open Settings.
- At the top of the Settings page, tap on Account Center.
- Tap on See More in Account Center.
- On the page showing all connected accounts, find both your Facebook and Instagram profiles.
- Under Account Settings, tap on Accounts.
- Locate your Instagram account in the list and tap on it.
- Select the option to Remove the account.
- A confirmation message will appear. Tap Remove again.
- Continue through the prompts to complete the process.
Once removed, your Instagram and Facebook accounts will no longer be linked in the Account Center. They won’t share login credentials, and actions on one platform won’t affect the other. However, you can still log into both apps separately as usual. If you ever want to reconnect them in the future, you can do so by returning to the Account Center and following the steps to add an account.
